Very nice stay in a very central location for a very small price!
Good: Centrally located, minutes away from shops, restaurants, public transportation, Old Montreal, Place des Arts; extremely quiet room with WIFI, coffee machine, TV and AC; decent breakfast in a huge restaurant, no queue; friendly and helpful staff. I would definitely recommend Hotel Travelodge Montreal Centre!
Bad: Locked window: I would have loved to be able to open the window in the room!
Good: While the room was smaller than we are used to, it was clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful. One day we came back from exploring the city and there were a variety of juices and candies served - welcome touch. The continental breakfast was good and plentiful. Everything was replenished frequently.
Walking distance to everything you want to see in Montreal--Notre Dame Basilica, port area, Old Montreal, shopping
It was difficult to find a place to stay to visit Montreal with a family of 4 without paying an enormous amount for two nights for a room, but I found I could with Travelodge downtown. Although this room was very small (true to the reviews), it was immaculate and served our purpose of sleeping. It also included a wonderful free breakfast spread above and beyond what I had thought--this was more than a continental breakfast and served our family well to start each day. The reviews were a bit confusing on the parking at the hotel, but we happened to check in with the hotel early (about 2:30) and were able to secure a parking spot for $25 a day. It is true that there are only 30 parking spots, so checking in early is good advice to be able to secure one. Once you have a spot, it is yours for the duration of your stay. Also true to the reviews, is that there is parking close by in other garages. I was very pleasantly surprised with this hotel.
Clean and gleaming!
Stayed at Travelodge after seeing the Marc Chagall exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts. Good dining within walking distance. Chinatown was right around the corner. The hotel was especially clean, even gleaming!! Will stay again someday.
